Sofasonic fest brings a zine to your sofa this July

Supersonic Festival have announced Sofasonic, a weekend of music, poetry, performance and streaming for free.

Throughout Friday, July 17th to Sunday, July 19th Supersonic are bringing Sofasonic festival, a weekend of live performances and more screened right to your sofa.

Expect surprising guests, exclusive performances, panel talks, DJ sets and more oddities and festival favourites from a plethora of Supersonic artists and its wider community.

As Coronavirus has completely wiped out festival season, many have taken the festivities online to lift spirits in lockdown. Those wishing to tune in can catch Sofasonic on Supersonic’s YouTube channel throughout the weekend.

Highlights of the weekend include Mike Patton and Andrew Clarke in conversation, poetry reading from Steve Von Till, Bingo Bingo Bingo Bingo Bingo Bingo Bingo by Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs, performances from Blue Ruth and Sofa King along with an afterparty with Will Brooks (Dälek) and more.

Whilst most of the programme is free, participatory events must be pre-booked, these include Bingo x 7 hosted by Pigs x 7, Ichi Kids Gigs (live set for the adults will be streaming on the Supersonic channel), Doom Yoga, and Jennifer Lucy Allan’s ‘Not General Knowledge’ Quiz and the afterparty. These on a Pay As You Feel basis, with 25% of proceeds to be donated to The Trussell Trust, who support a nationwide network of food banks to combat poverty and hunger in the UK.
