Angel Olsen brings new album ‘All Mirrors’ to intimate Birmingham gig

Along with her fifth album ‘All Mirrors’, Missouri songwriter and the epitome of dark pop Angel Olsen has added more dates to her extensive tour of the US and Europe. One of the smallest venues on her tour, Angel Olsen will play Birmingham’s Town Hall on Wednesday, September 2nd.

With cryptic and cosmic solo material that looms beyond the dark edges of gloomy pop, Olsen’s new record looks into inner destinations and into her own vulnerability, receiving critical acclaim in the process. Working nearly alone in remote locations of Washington, Olsen stripped back her newest record to unveil more tentative songwriting, with her inspiration of sorts coming from a tearing break up.

What came from the abyss was a supremely commanding record, fluctuating from softened murmurs of questions on identity to orchestral seances that grapple with life’s biggest questions head on. It’s this alone that makes Olsen’s work so tentative and connecting for her ever growing fanbase.

Angel Olsen will play Birmingham’s prestigious Town Hall on Wednesday, September 2nd. Tickets are on sale Friday 14th February at 10am.
