Local Birmingham illustrator Old Bort is celebrating the amazing art of Birmingham with the first ever Sticker Clubhouse at Birmingham’s School of Art this September.
The Sticker Clubhouse is part of Birmingham School of Art’s Night School and takes place between September 24th and September 30th.
In collaboration with Bethontwolegs (who designed the front cover of Issue 2 of Slag Mag), the Sticker Clubhouse is an exhibition showcasing the works of artists who have collaborated with Old Bort on her sticker club. The exhibition features the likes of Dianne Velvet, Foka Wolf, Ginger Dan, Dana McCann, Saturn Zingers, Afrokiin, Hope Rosie, Hanya Latif, Hope Rosie and Jennifer Mae Spooner.
The Old Bort herself Emily Doyle started her Sticker Club as a way to bring the cost down of printing vinyl stickers, whilst showcasing Birmingham’s best and brightest artists all at once.
She said: “Over the last year I’ve been lucky enough to collaborate with a whole bunch of talented creatives to put together seven volumes of Sticker Club so far! Beth Nicol (Bethontwolegs) had the idea to put on the show, and found a great space for it at the School of Art on Margaret Street. We’ve had lots of exciting submissions, and I can’t wait to see it all come together next week!”
Old Bort’s Sticker Clubhouse starts at 7:30pm on Tuesday, September 24th and runs until September 30th, the exhibition is free to enter and can be found on Margaret Street, Birmingham, B3 3BX.
